Single-Family Residential CT EV Charging Program
Enhance your EV experience and earn incentives by optimizing your EV charging. Reduce the cost and time it takes to charge your EV.
The majority of EV charging happens at home. Why not optimize the process to charge your car faster and earn money? We now offer up to $1000 for a new EV charger and/or wiring upgrades necessary to install a charger.
Need a charger? Get your new charger by visiting the UI SmartSolutions store to purchase a qualified EV charger. There, you can also arrange for installation of your new charger.
Already have a charger? You may be eligible to receive a $100 incentive just for signing up for the CT EV Charging Program with either your Qualifying charger or your Qualifying EV via the onboard computer.
Customers must be fully enrolled in the EV Charging Program to receive rebates and enrollment incentives. This mean that customers must install their new charger, download and enroll in the ev.energy app, and enroll in the CT EV Charging program. Customers enrolled in the Program will also receive ongoing incentives when they meet relevant monthly off-peak charging goals.
For more information on incentives, eligibility, and participation requirements, download our Program Participant Guide.
Please review the Terms and Conditions below to fully understand this program and requirements of each tier of participation.
Apply now for the CT EV Charging Program by submitting the following application to UI-Applications@ev.energy. Once you are approved and you download the ev.energy app, you will receive your rebates and incentives.
PLEASE NOTE: You will need equipment information, receipts and invoices, and/or details on your installation to submit as support for your application, depending on the rebates and/or incentives you are applying for.
Be sure your EV Charger or Connected Vehicle qualify before purchasing. Please revisit this page regularly, as our lists will be updated when new qualified products are added.

Multi-Unit Dwelling EV Charging Pilot
The MUD EV Charging Pilot provides UI customers living in a multi-unit dwelling (“MUD”) with 4 or more units an opportunity to earn incentives for shifting their EV charging away from times of stress on the electrical grid.
UI customers residing in MUDs that apply to the Pilot will be eligible for a one-time Enrollment Incentive of $50. After that, participants will earn $10/month for shifting a majority of the time, 80%, of their charging to the off-peak period for a minimum of 6 months. This charging schedule will help participants avoid adding undue stress to the system and be rewarded for their efforts. Please see the Pilot Participant Guide and Terms and Conditions below for a complete description of the Pilot and how to earn incentives. A link to apply to the Pilot can be found below.
Please review the Terms and Conditions below to fully understand this program and requirements of participation.
At this time, this Pilot is limited to support of specific EV makes and models, but throughout 2025, UI will work with its technology partners to offer more support for more EVs and EV chargers common at MUDs in Connecticut. Only vehicles listed on the Qualified Product List (“QPL”), located below, are eligible to participate in this Pilot. If you are unable to participate in the Pilot because your EV is not on the QPL, please check back later.
UI and ev.energy have made enrollment into this Pilot easy – once customers have gained an understanding of the Pilot and the obligations that must be fulfilled in order to earn ongoing monthly incentives, they may use the link below to apply. Applicants will receive emailed instructions on next steps.
